We had an email from New York City recently from a woman called Wendl who saw our Twitter account and wanted to let us know that she's a fan of Clem's Garden. It turns out that not only does Wendl volunteer as a gardener at Central Park (which sounds pretty amazing!), she also facilitates a community network for older people without children. It's sometimes a challenge to put across to people what community means when you don't have kids, but her hashtag sums it up...….
#communityisfamily
With this in mind, we were delighted to host a 'flowery picnic' for this year's Great Get-Together. For those of you who don't know, the Great Get-Together is a national weekend celebrating our communities, honouring the memory of Jo Cox MP, and encouraging people to make just a little bit of time to share with neighbours.
And what a lovely time we had.
